The game is far from perfect, there are many issues that would drive me crazy in other games: grind-fest, constant texture pop-in, disjointed narrative. But ultimately, for Sonic Frontiers, “The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.” The game took me about 30 hours to beat on normal, (I did the ending on Hard Mode to get the full ending) and got S Rank on all the old-school Sonic levels.
