Potatoes are best grown in uncompacted soil. In order to achieve this Dutch farm Klompe Landbouw uses a very wide outfit to plant them. The John Deere 8520T crawler tractor was imported from the United States. Its track width is metres. The soil is cultivated using a Grimme GR hook tine cultivator and then the potatoes are planted using a GB 430 belt planter. The variety is the local speciality ’Hoeksche Rooie’.
