Blue Oyster Cult Dr. Music with Lyrics in Description
Track 1 from their sixth album “Mirrors” released in 1979 copyright Columbia Records. Most songs on this album showed the band’s other musical influences and not their usual style of hard rock and early heavy-metal. This may have been an attempt to create a more commercial sound to reach a wider audience. This was their first album not to feature the production team of Murray Krugman and Sandy Pearlman and was the first for new producer Tom Werman. It received only average reviews and reached No. 44 on the Billboard album chart. Michael Moorcock, the British fantasy and science-fiction author co-wrote “The Great Sun Jester” with the band. Written by Joe Bouchard, Donald Roeser & Richard Meltzer and produced by Tom Werman. RIP Allen Lanier. Featuring:
Eric Bloom – Lead vocals & rhythm guitars
Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser – Lead vocals, lead & rhythm guitars & background vocals
Allen Lanier – Keyboards, rhythm guitars & background vocals
Joe Bouchard – Lead vocals, bass & background vocals
Albert Bouchard – Lead vocals, drums, percussion & background vocals
Special Guests:
Mickey Raphael – Harmonica on “Dr. Music”
Jai Winding – Strings on “In Thee”

Dance on fire with me, babe, the flames ain’t gonna stop
Come on and show me that you’re ready to trot
(So if you really wanna do it, you better do it hot)
Oh, my babe, tell me that you’re scared
But your fear’s just drivin’ me mad
Well, you can call me Doctor Music (call your doctor)
Music is my game (I need your doctor)
Well, you can call me Doctor Music (call your doctor)
Music is my name
Girl, don’t stop the screamin’, you’re soundin’ so sincere
So much beauty in the tracks of your tears
(So if you wanna face the music, open up your ears)
Meet my friend, Calamity Jane
Hear the rhythm in the sound of her pain
Well, you can call me Doctor Music (call your doctor)
Music is my game (call me your doctor)
Well, you can call me Doctor Music (call your doctor)
Music is my name
Well, you can call me Doctor Music (call your doctor)
Music is my game (I need your doctor)
Well, you can call me Doctor Music (call your doctor)
Music is my name
Well, you can call me Doctor Music (call your doctor)
Music is my game (I need your doctor)
Well, you can call me Doctor Music (call your doctor)
Music is my name
