Colter Wall’s song “Corralling the Blues” will appear on his fourth studio album Little Songs, to be released July 14th. In this song, Colter sings about depression and its largely unaddressed presence in agricultural communities and individuals.
Opposed to previous releases, Colter’s latest record was largely written from his home in southern Saskatchewan, where he lives and works raising cattle. Colter said about the new album, “These songs were written over the last three years. I penned most of them from home and I think the songs reflect that.”
On the new record, Colter and his longtime road band, affectionately known to fans as The Scary Prairie Boys, tracked the songs in Wimberley, TX. Patrick Lyons joined Colter as a co-producer on this record and played many instruments from steel guitar to mandolin. Also on the record are Jake Groves (harmonica), Russell Patterson (drums), Doug Moreland (fiddle) and Jason Simpson (bass).
After releasing previous recordings with Colter, La Honda Records partnered with RCA Records for the album Little Songs, to be released July 14th.
