Learn How to Draw and Paint SEASIDE HYDRANGEAS - Paint and sip at Home - Fun Acrylic Painting Lesson
PAINTING VIDEO DESCRIPTION – This easy painting tutorial will take you through beginner step-by-step instructions on how to draw and paint this beautiful seascape floral image of “SEASIDE HYDRANGEAS” with acrylic paint. I live in Massachusetts and one of my favorite weekend getaway destinations is Cape Cod. Like many tourist spots, the Cape has its peak season. Although I enjoy peace and quiet, no traffic, empty beaches, and not having to wait in lines, if you go to the Cape anytime other than between mid-May to the first week in September, you’re going to miss out on some fun events, such as, the Nantucket Food and Wine Festival, Provincetown International Film Festival, Nantucket Comedy Festival, Provincetown Portuguese Festival, Cape Code Jazz Festival, Harwich Cranberry Arts and Music Festival, Yarmouth Seaside Festival, and my personal favorite, Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival. Just imagine walking through a quaint seaside village with miles of beautiful sandy beaches and seeing all these colorful vibrant hydrangeas blooming. It’s such a massively popular event with a kickoff party, guided map trails and public gardens. Representing grace, unity, harmony, and gratitude, Hydrangeas are simply beautiful and meaningful, but they also possess a deeper contextual significance depending upon their color—pink symbolizes heartfelt emotion, blue symbolizes frigidity and apology, white symbolizes boasting and bragging, and purple symbolizes a deeper desire for understanding. Food for thought the next time you decide to plant some hydrangeas in your garden. Garden, sunroom, in a vase, by the ocean, hydrangeas are beautiful everywhere. So, join me and celebrate the captivating colors of this fantastic flower, and capture the imagination of its viewers and paint this charming oceanscape still life. The first lesson you’ll learn in this beginner level painting tutorial is how to paint a background sunny sky and ocean with vibrant and inviting colors which enhance the vibe and set the stage perfectly for this beach holiday, vacation, painting. After learning how to use a dot-to-dot drawing method, you’ll draw an outline of your vase and pretty bloomers, followed by applying a simple base coat to work off of. In the next step, you’ll use a directional brushstroke to paint stems to your flowers, and then you’ll use a one stroke painting technique to make your flower petals. Then you’ll combine both your directional and one-stroke methods you just learned to add highlights and shadows to the petals for added depth and dimension, creating an impressionistic style that has a 3-d photo realistic appearance. You come to learn how the importance of layering colors and using highlights and shadows can create contours, curves, delineations, movement and shape to your fragrant flowers. The process is so fun and simple, you’ll have enough confidence to paint any flowers you want, such as roses, irises, pansies, daisies, orchids, tulips, lupines, or sunflowers. Using only 3 brushes, 6 colors and only one brush per step, we’ll create this conversational masterpiece easy hydrangea painting. Not just a beautiful painting, but and easy painting for beginners. Paint alone, or with friends! Have a date night, paint party, or virtual paint night. Perfect for a bachelorette party or girl’s night out. So, let’s get painting and let’s get sipping!
