Cozy Reading Nook Ambience: Heavy Rain on Window Sounds and Crackling Fire

You’re safe now. Tucked in a cozy reading nook, surrounded by your favorite books, the ambience of a heavy rain falling outside your window, a fire crackling nearby, and a coffee by your side. Pure and utter bliss! For this week’s ambience artwork I wanted to create an indoor scene that felt very earthy and cozy with a tiny hint of fantasy. I used a lot of greens and browns for this one, to bring that outside feel inside. I kept the details simple and clean, as not to cause any distractions or sensory overload. I kept the sounds quite simple, too. Mostly you’ll hear the odd book page flipping, coffee being poured, movement, and books being moved around on a shelf. I added subtle crackling fire sounds as well, so you can imagine a little fireplace off-screen keeping this small space warm and cozy! We weren’t getting any rain for the longest time here, so I was worried I wouldn’t be able to capture any ’rain on window’ sounds. But a few days before my upload time, it poured and I was able to capture some good audio that I hope you’ll enjoy!
