Little Richard And His Band - Long Tall Sally - 1956 - 78 RPM

[1956 US issue on Specialty SP-572] RIP Little Richard (1932-2020) I am sad to say that yesterday, we lost one of the greatest architects of rock and roll; Little Richard passed away of what is reported to be bone cancer. This video is dedicated to him and his wild musical style, he will be missed. “Long Tall Sally“ was another one of Little Richard’s big hits, charting in 1956. Like many other of his songs, it’s rowdy and somewhat raunchy compared to other hits of the time. This particular song is what got me into 1950’s music, after it was used in the movie “Planet 51.“ This record is recorded straight from my AT-LP120 and its built-in preamp, into a single-channel EQ, and then into my SoundBlaster ZXR sound card. No editing, just raw audio heard as it should be. Enjoy! Please note that in compliance with guidelines for fair use, the intended purpose of this video is not to provide entertainment, but rather to demonstrate physical audio media formats and how they fare over the course of their existence. If you enjoy this artist’s performance, I highly encourage you to support them or their estate by purchasing their music.
