Taiwan’s parliament descended into chaos last Friday, as lawmakers clashed over proposed reforms to the chamber ahead of President-elect Lai Ching-te’s inauguration.
Footage shows what looks to be a free-for-all scuffle, with the inclusion of a few bits of furniture for good measure. Some lawmakers can be seen throwing water at their opponents, others appeared to be stage-diving, while one politician is removed from the room on a stretcher – such is the nature of political debate.
The brawl reportedly involved members of all three main parties, which means they might at least be able to bond over the experience.
