Life - Savers (1931)

Life saving drill on the beaches of South Africa is the subject of this film. Panning shot of a beach - lots of sun seekers sitting and standing on the beach. Life savers go through their drills. Intertitle states: “With the increase in bathing at our resorts - we may have to organise similar precautions here this year.“ Various shots of the life savers pulling a line out to sea. A woman stands on the beach operating the winch. M/S of a group of people watching the demonstration. Some sit, some stand. The line is pulled in and a “person in distress“ is brought into the beach.
