Training Gunners (1950)

Portsmouth, Hampshire. Various shots show marine gunners being trained on the shore establishment of HMS Excellent. The men are put through their paces, loading their gun while gallons of water are poured over them. The trainers are in a booth giving orders through a microphone. When the exercise is done, the Petty-officer instructs the crew on the correct method of loading shell into breech. The gun crew have another go, in another deluge of water. We see the trough tipping the water over them. M/S of a marine who gets it right in the neck. FILM ID:1277.2 A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
