New Decade – Statue of Gold (Original Mix 1993)

Available 23/4/21 only via Label founder New Decade (Paul Smailes) was never one to follow trends. Statue of Gold stood alone in the realms of Hardcore with its Techno influences and sublime atmospherics. Ahead of its time in terms of style, the original mix was supported heavily by John Peel on BBC Radio One. Its individuality and fused vibe was unlike anything of the time. A fresh remaster for 2021 shows this track in all of its mastery and is backed by a fresh remix from Kniteforce kingpin, Cru-L-T (Luna-C). This mix takes the best elements of the original and injects some furious dancefloor energy that cements a place in the sets of any modern but authentic Hardcore set.
