Blur filters are a key tool for designers. Blurring is intentionally used to provide a sense of depth, creating smoother gradients, making transitions... It can even be useful to remove noise or otherwise undesired parts of any given image.
In this episode, we take a look at what exactly is your computer doing when you crank up that blur slider.
⁜ Minor correction: 25 operations per pixel on a 100x100 pixel image amounts to 250K operations, not operations.
