In 1997, physicist William Phillips won the Nobel Prize for his work in cooling atoms to near-absolute zero using lasers. Drawing from his knowledge of the strange behavior of matter at extreme cold, and inspired by his own fascination with science as a child, Phillips now devotes much of his time sharing his passion for science with others.
