Battle of Heraclea Part 2 - 280 BC - Historical Total War Cinematic Battle
Pyrrhus prepares for the battle of Heraclea in 280 BC after the main Roman army crossed the river Siris. With the Tarentine levy hoplites, 20 000 phalangites from Macedon and 20 some elephants, Epirus is about to put the phalanx juggernauts of Greece against the Roman legion head to head for the first time. A clash of military and cultures happened during this time period where the Romans were not well known in the European landscape and where Greeks dominated from military to trade. Phyrrus, renown for his brilliancy as a general, had given hope to the Greeks of Magna Graecia and many of the Greek states there followed him into battle to spread Greek influence.
