School Film Unit (1962)

Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex. L/S as a group of adults and children walk down a beach with various pieces of filming equipment, they put them down on the sand and start to unpack. M/S of two boys stood on the seashore setting up a camera on a tripod, one of the boys looks through the camera. M/S of a boy sat down in front of a big tape recorder, he is listening through headphones, a teacher comes over to check what he is doing. Three girls are sat next to him looking at a clipboard, C/U of the girls. The narrator explains that filming is part of the curriculum at the local secondary school. Interior. A group of children are sat round desks in a classroom and the teacher is talking to them. C/U of a blonde boy looking through some papers, he hands one to a girl, M/S as she takes it and smiles. She says something and hands it to the teacher. M/S as the teacher collects more paper from another pupil.
