EU signs US gas deal two days after Scholz on Russian energy ban would mean European recession

German chancellor Olaf Scholz warned Bundestag on Wednesday that cutting all ties with Russian energy now would hit the German economy when it was unprepared. Scholz made the remarks one day before the trio crisis talks held in Brussels. The point was, somehow, echoed by some of the EU leaders before their summits with US Biden.
