This twelve episode series focuses on the little known god Yato, who fulfills people’s wishes be it slaying phantoms or cleaning their bathrooms in hopes of one day having a shrine to call his own. Shortly after losing his Sekki, a phantom human who can change into a spirit slaying weapon, Yato meets a young woman named Hiyori. Hiyori, in an effort to save Yato from being hit by a car, loses connection with her physical body, gaining the ability to slip out of her physical form and into the spirit realm. Seeking to fix this, Hiyori hounds Yato, only to get caught up in the dangers, comedy, and drama surrounding Yato and the other Japanese gods who dwell just out of sight.
