Sunrise

It’s been just over three years since I’ve been able to get the time to post anything new. For those who have waited patiently, thank you! I had a day off on my birthday on the 19th, and decided some studio time would be a nice way to celebrate. This is an original, improvised composition, inspired by a gorgeous string patch on my Korg Triton Extreme 88-key workstation keyboard. I am a big fan of movie scores and this patch has a wonderful feel and response when playing, and inspired this piece. I’m a fan of movie scores, and some of my favorite composers are James Horner, Thomas Newman, Alan Silvestri and John Williams, to name a few. All of them have influenced this piece in one way or another. When I was working out the basic parts of this composition beforehand, I couldn’t help but imagine a movie scene featuring a beautiful sunrise or a peaceful landscape.
