In our annual master class, NYFF director Kent Jones sits down with world-renowned filmmakers for an in-depth conversation about films from other directors that have influenced and inspired them, their talk illustrated with film clips. For the 2016 edition, Jones spoke with legendary American independent filmmaker Jim Jarmusch, whose films Paterson and Gimme Danger are both featured in this year’s festival. -- The 17-day New York Film Festival highlights the best in world cinema, featuring top films from celebrated filmmakers as well as fresh new talent. The five-person selection committee is chaired by New York Film Festival Director Kent Jones and includes esteemed critics, curators, and programmers.
