Primordial Serpent - The Funereal Winter (full ep, 2023)

Two of the undergrounds most consistently excellent second-wave inspired one-man bands both dropped new EPs this week, and both artists outdo themselves again . The second of these is coming to the channel later today, but first I give you, Primordial Serpent. With this new EP, Primordial Serpent delivers what is probably my favourite track of his whole discography - Funereal Beast of the Night. A pulsing, hypnotically rhythmic track that carries an elegantly primitive riff on its hairy back as it succumbs to the primal transformation, a thirst for blood and insatiable ravenous hunger. The rest of the EP is another ice-preserved old-school masterclass of immaculate black metal, but that track in particular. Wow!
