Coming this October... WORKIN’ BOYS!!! (A New Hatchetfield Short Film)

It’s been years in the making, but ‘Workin’ Boys’ is finally on its way! The 30-minute short film (originally promised as a SK 10niversary Kickstarter perk back in 2019) is set to release later this month. There will be two ways to see it: First, on Friday, October 13th @5pm-8pm PST (immediately following the YouTube premiere of ’Nerdy Prudes Must Die’), ‘Workin’ Boys’ will be screened as part of the 2023 ‘Hatchetfield Halloween Party: A Spooky Livestream Celebration.’ This pay-to-view digital event will feature cast & crew members from every Hatchetfield show, and include a ‘Nerdy Prudes’ Talkback, a Hatchetfield Trivia Game, the ‘Workin’ Boys’ screening & a talkback, plus a discussion of/sneak-peek at the possible future of the Hatchetfield series! The party will stream live on the 13th, then digital tickets to the recording will be available to rent until Halloween. Then, ‘Workin’ Boys’ will be FREE to view for all SK 10niversary Kickstarter Backers starting Monday, October 30th (just in time for Halloween). On that day, 10niversary Backers will be sent a link to the short so they can watch it as many times as they like, whenever they like. To be clear, SK 10niversary Kickstarter Backers will NOT need to buy a ticket to the Hatchetfield Halloween Party to receive the FREE link to see ‘Workin’ Boys’ on October 30th. BUT being a SK 10niversary Kickstarter Backer doesn’t automatically get you a ticket to the Hatchetfield Halloween Party (which includes a three-hour block of activities, not just ’Workin’ Boys’). If you’d like to tune into that event, you’ll be able to purchase a ticket as soon as they become available. We’ll release more information about the Hatchetfield Halloween Party (including how & where to buy tickets) on our socials in the coming days! Based on the musical-within-the-musical from ’The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals,’ ’Workin’ Boys’ tells the story of Professor Henry Hidgens (played by Jeff Blim) who sets out to produce his dream musical at the Starlight Theater, and things don’t go according to plan. Now one man’s dream will become one town’s nightmare. Hatchetfield is up to its ass in shit, and five-o-clock can’t come soon enough! Filled with show stopping numbers and a cast of familiar faces, ‘Workin’ Boys’ is a horror-comedy short boasting 5 new songs by Jeff Blim, a script by Nick & Matt Lang, a score by Matt Dahan, choreography by Lauren Lopez, and special make-up FX by Gabriela Vega. It stars Jeff Blim, Mariah Rose Faith Casillas, Bryce Charles, Matt Dahan, Corey Dorris, Paul Gabriel, Angela Giarratana, Lauren Lopez, Jon Matteson, Curt Mega, Joey Richter, Dylan Saunders, Virginia Vass, Kim Whalen, and Mary Kate Wiles.
