Tree Felling - 1939 (1939)

Unused / unissued material - dates and locations unclear or unknown. Bavaria, Germany. Close up shot of an axe cutting a large tree. Tree falling. Several shots of logs travelling down water chute from mountains to river below - huge splash as the tree hits the river. Log stacks being released over cliff edge to river below - looks quite bizarre, like a cloud of large insects. More logs being pushed down. Travelling shot aboard log raft on water chute. Man in traditional Bavarian costume is on it. (F.G.) Note: probably captured German footage - UFA material. Item has Spanish voiceover. There is an item from 1934 in Pathe Gazette 34/42 on the Pathe Master tape *PM787* titled LOGGING! with the same footage as this one. This one is longer and shows the logs travelling down the stream. It is possible that this item is shot much earlier then it was stated in paperwork. This is probably shot in 1934 by UFA and an item was made for the 34/42 Gazette. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPL
