When Franz Lehar wrote “Serenade from Frasquita“, (the music of this song) I don’t think he had the roaring twenties and dancing flappers in mind, not to mention Adrian Schubert’s syncopated combo and the insertion of other 20s melodies into his music!
Adrian Schubert (1883-1957) was an Austrian-born cellist and arranger who was leading bands and playing cello with various groups including the Metropolitan Opera Company from the early 1900’s. He also led numerous studio orchestras for Regal and the Plaza Music Group between 1921 and 1930 that made hundreds (or possibly thousands!) of popular dance mus
