The face of Decebalus, king of the Dacia (87–106 AD). Dacia the pre-Roman name of Romania. A high relief carved on the wall of a mountain, on the river Danube near Orsova, Romania. The highest (42.9 m) rock sculpture in Europe. 1994-2004, over 300 sculptures and climbers in the world, it is on 4th in the world after: Abu-Simbel/Egypt, Mt. Rushmore/Georgia, Buddha-Bamiyan/Afganistan (down in 2001 by taliban-militant).
The sculpture was made between 1994 and 2004, on a rocky outcrop on the river Danube, at the Iron Gates, which form the border between Romania and Serbia. It is located near the city of Orșova in Romania. The site chosen was a cliff of a natural park Danube, right on the opposite bank, which now belongs to Serbia, where the Tabula Traiana war that has found Trajan. For a decade, 12 sculptors worked the stone wall to form a face patriot king who is over 40 meters high .
