Influencer and nuclear advocate behind ‘Isodope’ at IAEA

Known as Isodope on social media, nuclear energy influencer Isabelle Boemeke was the keynote speaker of IAEA Scientific Forum 2023. Boemeke is a Brazilian model and nuclear advocate, known for her viral TikTok videos. In the wake of the 2019 Amazon rainforest wildfires and the Australian bushfire season, Boemeke began using her social platforms to advocate for nuclear power as a solution to climate change. Through her persona Isodope, she taps into social media trends and uses the language of memes to bring nuclear energy to a whole new audience. Held on 26–27 September 2023 on the sidelines of the agency’s annual General Conference, IAEA Scientific Forum focused on nuclear innovations and how nuclear power supports more secure energy transitions.
