MERCEDES G-CLASS PRODUCTION LINE IN AUSTRIA | Mercedes Factory | How Mercedes G-Class is Made

Since the G-debut Class’s in 1979, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class has been hand-built at the Magna Steyr Automobile Company in Graz, Austria. The G-Class bodywork arrive at Magna Steyr to begin the production process. From there, the car is built, one part and subassembly at a time, by skilled workers. the general assembly line, the leather shop, and the welding section. The G-Class plant employs 2,000 people, some of them are body welders. A sizable portion of the G-Class body is still manually welded. The G-Class is put together in Graz on a dedicated assembly line. In contrast to other auto assembly factories, Graz uses almost no robots and almost all of its welding is done by hand. The buff G-Wagen appears to have been put together by skilled craftsmen who can legitimately be proud of their job.
