Amebiasis is a gastrointestinal infection caused by a number of different species of Amoeba, specifically the species entamoeba histolytica. Entamoeba histolytica Infection by this amoeba can cause of wide variety of symptoms in particular patients, which include bloody diarrhea, liver abscesses among other symptoms.
