In this short clip from the 2000 movie “THE PATRIOT“ Benjamin Martin (Mel Gibson) finds a patched up American Flag in his son’s saddlebags. A flag his son had carried throughout the war until being fatally wounded in a skirmish with the British the day before. Now on horseback with flag in hand, Martin finally embraces the cause while lifting the spirits of a tired & battle weary colonial army.
