Padre Crespi collection First part of this video. Carlo Crespi was born, the third of thirteen children, to Daniele Crespi, a farmer on a local estate, and his wife Luisa Croci. In 1921, Carlo obtained a degree in natural sciences with a specialization in botany at the University of Padua, discussing a thesis entitled Contribution to the knowledge of the freshwater fauna of the Este area and neighboring localities. Swamps, canals, ditches, springs of the Euganei, of the lakes of Arquà and Venda. After three months he graduated, in the same city, in piano and composition at the Cesare Pollini Conservatory. He lived for sixty years as a missionary in Ecuador, also with the indigenous Jívaros of the Ecuadorian Amazon. In addition to his religious work, he devoted himself to education, cinema, anthropology and archeology. He was one of the first researchers of the Cueva de los Tyos. Crespi was one of the forerunners of Ecuadorian cinema with his documentary Los invincibles Shuaras del Alto Amazona
