This is a remake of my April 2019 translation of this song. I’ve been meaning to retranslate and resub this one for a while now because there was room for improvement. The original video is unlisted as of now, so if you have saved it somewhere, please see this translation as the current one. This performance was originally requested by Vermin and it is from the DIR EN GREY x PIERROT -Androgynos- Live, 1st Day -A View Of The Megiddo-. Translation by me. Annotations: Intro: “This foolish wish - spoiled our parting - I was counting my breaths - as I was waiting somewhere - for the right answer“ As you might have guessed, the lines Kyo is singing in this intro aren’t part of the lyrics. I had to decipher by ear what he is singing. Half of the lines I was confident I could hear correctly, for the other half I asked my friend Minori to give her opinion, so a big thank you to her. Still, I can’t be 100% sure that the lyrics I think I’m hearing are correct, so please take them with a grain of salt. Also, “spoiled“ as in “ruined“. (If you only look at the kanji for this verb, it describes being eaten by worms.) “Without making a sound it disappears“ - It is not specified whether this isn’t “Without making a sound I disappear“. It could be both. While I find “I“ would sound more lyrically beautiful, in the end I went with “it“ because it might tie into the line before and take reference to “the baby’s first cry“. “I feel the temperature of my dream and wish“ - It literally says “body temperature“, however I changed it to only “temperature“ in this retranslation because it seems implicit. “Inside the crimson darkness“ - Another small thing I changed. “Red darkness“ would do, but the kanji used here implies a specifically deep red, so as to not lose that in translation I went with “crimson“ this time. --------------- I do not own Dir En Grey or any of their music or performances.
