Viktória Fődi’s experiences as a child caused her to develop a hatred of men. In her early 20s she left her husband in the night to start a new life; around this time a rare glandular problem made her appearance more masculine. Deciding that she and her daughter had a better chance of survival as a man - she cast off her female clothing and donned the clothes of a labourer. Soon she had a job working on a cattle ranch and went under the name Peter. Not long afterwards many men in the next town were being found by their wives hanged in the barns of their homesteads.
