Nona Gaprindashvili / Beth Harmon - The Queen’s Gambit

Nona Gaprindashvili’s appearance in Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit. And there are two mistakes in this episode - first, she played with men and was successful, and second - though playing for the Soviet Union, she is not Russian, but Georgian. Nona Gaprindashvili’s is a Georgian chess player and the first woman to be awarded the FIDE title Grandmaster. She was the fifth women’s world chess champion (1962–1978).
