Using ’Atomic Bomb on Gaza’ Is An Option, Says Israeli Minister

In a radio interview, Israeli Heritage Minister Amihai Eliyahu said that dropping a nuclear bomb on Gaza was “one of the possibilities”. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu moved quickly to remove Eliyahu from his cabinet and distance his government from the comment. Netanyahu said Eliyahu’s comment was not ‘based in reality’ and that Israel is ‘operating in accordance with the highest standards of international law to avoid harming innocents.’ In another tweet, Eliyahu claimed his comment was only ‘metaphorical’. Meanwhile, there are reports that Gaza has come under the most intense bombardment of the war so far. Almost constant airstrikes could be seen lighting up the night sky. The increased strikes come as the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claims it has now divided Gaza in two. In the north IDF troops are apparently ready to push into Gaza City, which is currently being hardest hit by the strikes. Hamas claims more than 10,000 people have now died in Gaza, and aid agencies say the humanitarian situation is worsening by the day. With northern Gaza effectively sealed off, the Jordanian military air-dropped crates of medical supplies into the territory overnight. Israel says it helped coordinate the airdrop, but is still refusing calls from the US and others to allow a ‘humanitarian pause’ in hostilities. Without a pause, the US argues there is little hope of getting more supplies into northern Gaza or allowing any more civilians to evacuate to safer areas in the south. #israel #gaza #palestine Subscribe here: TikTok: @ondemandnews Twitter: Facebook: If you wish to purchase any of our clips for commercial use, please visit:
