Fake Positivity Movement | Toxic Trend of Suppressing Emotions | Why your Mental Health is declining

What is positivity? How can I be more positive? How do we avoid negative feelings? These are the questions most people ask google. We are living in the days when positivity is an obligation. It can look different depending on the scenario, but one example might be a friend telling you to “look on the bright side“ when you’ve just shared something tough. And That kind of response can make it hard for you to sit with your negative emotions and processing. When I was researching this topic it made me realize that on occasions I am that friend, I have been absolutely guilty of telling my loved ones to see the positive instead of allowing them to feel their emotions first. And this is exactly what we’re discussing in todays video - the toxic culture of the fake positivity movement but before we do, my name is Nika and I do all sorts of commentary videos on my channel, mainly around our society and now also a little bit true crime so if this sounds good to you, then make sure you do subscribe to my channel and turn on your notifications. We are almost at 500 subscribers and I just want to say thank you all for your support and the love so far now let’s get into the video. What is the problem?
