Auroville birthday 28 2 2015

Auroville was founded on February 28, 1968, exactly 47 years ago. On this date, Aurovilians and guests gather at sunrise, around a dawn-fire, in silence listening to the recorded voice of The Mother, the founder, reading the Charter and, this year, a few lines of Sri Aurovindo’s poem “Savitri“. The background music is a performance of the Auroville choir, the same night, as recorded live by Auroville Radio.
