Urgent Question in the Commons on The Telegraph sale

A senior Tory MP has been granted an urgent question in the House of Commons on the proposed takeover of The Telegraph. Alicia Kearns, the chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee, has asked for a statement to be made by ministers on the proposed sale of the newspaper to the Abu Dhabi-backed RedBird IMI investment fund. Lucy Frazer, the Culture Secretary, recently ordered a further investigation into the attempted takeover by RedBird IMI, a fund that is 75 per cent funded by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the vice president of the UAE.
