Video by АWENDANCE - коллектив ирл. танца ДК Куйбышева

This video is to help Irish dancers gain the strength they need to execute all the new technical skills that are trending in Irish dance. In order to do the giant leaps (overdowns), kicks and tricks with control and beautiful lines, you will need a strong core and strong legs. At the end of each strength section, I teach you how to stretch the muscles we just worked. You can use this video by following along through the full video one or two days a week. Or, you can use certain parts of this video every day to strengthen your weaker areas. In this video, I show you my favourite exercises for your quads (the 4 big muscles in the front of your thigh). Some of them are pretty hard but they should help you with getting higher on your jumps. Next, I show you how to strengthen your calves so you can stay nice and high on your toes when dancing. I show you how to help prevent shin splints and also how to stretch your calves too. Then we head to the stairs for some of the best calf exercises out there. It strengthens both front and back of your lower leg and gives your calves a stretch too! Following this are exercises for strengthening the hamstrings (the whole back of your leg). You will need some therabands or weights but you can also do the exercises without them. Lastly, we finish up with some awesome core exercises that will help you to stabilize your upper body when dancing and maybe, give you some abs too! I hope this video helps you in some way to reach your Irish dancing goals!
