Tyre fitting/review with Ryan O’Keefe: Continental GP5000 TR (hookless rims) – installation comments

Tubeless tyres are evolving rapidly. Continental has recently released a new version of the popular GP5000 – now at ’TR’ (Tubeless Ready) – and RIDE Media got a pair to review. (Stock isn’t due in Australia until early in 2022.) Instead of me doing all the work, Ryan O’Keefe has agreed to offer some comments... and do the tyre fitting, in the backyard of his place (not a complicated, professional workshop complete with air-compressor). Ryan offers his comments after his first sighting of the GP5000 TR tyres and then he tests the claim that these are “easier to fit than other Continental tyres. It proved to be a bit of a wrestle to get them on the Cadex wheels he’s riding but the GP5000s seated easily and the initial impressions are good. Light and grippy, Ryan expects to get around 5,000km from this pair of tyres. Stay tuned... – Rob (Next episode: first ride impressions.) ___ Camera and editing: Rob Arnold Commentary and mechanical work: Ryan O’Keefe ___ #ProductReview #cycli
