Aliens or meteorite? Unexplained light flash in Kyiv puzzles residents

A bright flash of light lit up the night sky in wartime Kyiv on Wednesday evening, puzzling residents and leaving many in the area to speculate about its cause. “Maybe it was a flash of hope. Hope for our victory. To be honest, it would be great for it to be some kind of a sign for us,” said one man, Mykyta Potapenko, 24, before joking that it could be aliens paying Earth a visit. “I think (the aliens) would be shocked from what is happening (in Ukraine.) That people on our planet fight each other for territories. Because one man, one deranged man, just wants to capture the territories of another developing country. That would be a shock for them.” Kyiv said Wednesday evening that an unknown aerial object fell from the sky, prompting them to issue an air alert. However, the possible use of an airstrike missile was not confirmed. A spokesperson for Ukraine’s air force suggested a meteorite may have entered the Earth’s atmosphere.
