Cool cigarbox guitar: Fiona Boyes - ‘Louisiana’ - a tribute to NOLA played with whiskey bottle slide

On a recent hot sweaty Summer day in Australia, I just felt like playing this beautiful, original song: ‘Louisiana’. The song features on my award-winning album ‘Box & Dice’, which I wrote around two newly acquired cigarbox instruments, a rare National Reso-Lectric Baritone and my trusty tour guitar, my custom Maton Mastersound. This song is a tribute both to the city of New Orleans and the state of Louisiana. Isn’t it strange how you can love and miss a place that you’ve dreamed about, but never visited? As it turned out by recording this heart-felt song, I DID get to tour the album in the US - AND visit NOLA, including playing my first shows there! The instrument I’m playing with my little whiskey bottle is called the ‘FB Australian Classic’. It’s a 4 string lap-style cigarbox guitar made by Shayne Soall from the Oz Blues & Roots Store & Cigarbox Guitar Emporium.
