В селе Вышка на юге Астраханской области находится один из самых необычных маяков в России. Он был заложен еще в XVIII веке и служил ориентиром для кораблей в Каспийском море, а сейчас стоит посреди голой степи. Со временем уровень моря упал, сейчас побережье находится в 30 километрах от маяка. Сам маяк построили по приказу Петра I во время первого Персидского похода, отсюда и его название — Петровский. Маяк раньше стоял на острове Четырехбугорный, из-за этого его также иногда называют Четырехбугорным.
