Amid an ongoing war in Ukraine, a massive fleet of Russian warships and submarines have reportedly left their base at Novorossiysk, in the Black Sea. The mobilised fleet reportedly comprises of at least six warships, including two huge land assault vessels, with troops onboard. The group includes the Project 11711 Ivan Gren class landing ship, Pyotr Morgunov, the largest amphibious ship in the Black Sea. Three Project 636.3 Improved-Kilo class submarines equipped with cruise missiles have also been mobilised. Experts say the inclusion of a number of submarines suggests this is “much more than a supply mission”.
