Andrew Blanch & Vladimir Gorbach (Live) | #PhoenixHALO

PROGRAM: 0:00 Christopher Sainsbury — Rain Falls and After 6:58 Agustín Barrios — Waltz Op. 8, No. 4 Two of Sydney’s foremost classical guitarists Andrew Blanch and Vladimir Gorbach perform a thoughtfully selected program for #PhoenixHALO in two parts. First, the digital premiere of a new Australian work by award-winning composer Christopher Sainsbury. Rain Falls and After evokes a blooming natural world at the micro scale. Taking inspiration from a haiku by the Australian poet Isobel Robin, Sainsbury says his piece gives a sense of “the universe within a few small square inches of land”. Imagine the rising of shoots and trickling of miniature dew droplets at dawn. Blanch and Gorbach perform in delicate unity, made only possible by their instrumental mastery and sensitive playing. To finish, Andrew Blanch performs one of the great solo works for classical guitar of the twentieth century, Waltz Op. 8, No. 4, composed by Paraguayan virtuoso Agustín Barrios. ______ Subscribe: htt
