“Some days everything just comes together! We’ve heard rumors of Killer Whales hanging around somewhere off of Northern Baja, so on Tuesday we put a special extended trip together to try and find them! Beautiful conditions greeted us on the way down the coastline of North America, and we found ourselves ten miles south of Ensenada! That is where we located an unusually friendly pod of Cuvier’s Beaked Whales (we’ll post that video too soon)! We also caught glimpses of a SECOND Beaked Whale species, the Baird’s Beaked Whale! Knowing the day was already a success, we made our way back north. Suddenly, about 50 miles from home, Captain Dom began to scream. It was the kind of scream where nobody needed to hear the words to know what he saw: Orcas. We spent five magical hours with these Eastern Tropical Pacific Killer Whales.
