Recording Underwater Submersion Sound Effects with a Hydrophone

One of the most common problems with using a hydrophone is figuring out how to keep it in place. Unless you have a really fancy neutrally buoyant hydrophone (rare!), your microphone will either sink or float (most pro models sink). That means that I’ll have to hold it in place, or rig some sort of fancy stand to keep it there. I’ve tried mic stands in water, which can work, but my favorite solution is the good ole standby noodle trick.
