Putin Invites Indian PM Narendra Modi To Russia During Meeting With FM Jaishankar

Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 27 held a meeting at the Kremlin with visiting Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar. Putin said that Indian-Russian trade is growing and invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Moscow next year. Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Russia and India had made tangible progress in talks on plans to jointly produce military equipment. India has become one of Russia’s core economic partners since the West in 2022 imposed sweeping sanctions on Moscow over the war in Ukraine.
