Game Recap: Penguins vs. Devils () | Penguins Claim First Place in Division

Jeff Carter started the Penguins off with the first goal of the game. Later in the 1st period, Jared McCann dove head-first to score a goal for the Penguins, who ended the period with a 2-0 lead. In the 2nd period, Cody Ceci ripped a shot from the blueline that was deflected by Jake Guentzel’s stick, and then put in the net by Bryan Rust. The Penguins stepped up their defensive game in the last period in order to obtain a regulation win. With 0.1 seconds remaining in the game, Sidney Crosby scored a buzzer-beating empty-net goal.
