Due to this being the most requested song by our patrons, here is our version of . Tolkien’s poem, “Fall of Gil-galad!“ We worked very hard on this and hope you enjoy it:)
A note on our interpretation:
The first verse is meant to set the tone of the piece as a lament, with a single narrating voice, as though anyone could mourn the loss of such a champion: whether elf, or man, or hobbit (for Sam sung this lament in the Fellowship of the Ring).
The second verse is meant to recall the glory of Gil galad, for Tolkein describes him as a warrior worthy of heaven. This verse falls off into a void as the elves have their final say before an evil power takes the final verse.
