Sharpe’s Eagle - Battle of Talavera

The South Essex Regiment fights their first big battle and capture an Imperial Eagle through Sharpe and the 95th Rifles’ Chosen Men. Also mentioned is Sir Rowland “Daddy“ Hill with the 48th Northamptonshire Regiment. Historical errors in this was Lawford and Hogan’s comment on the French outnumbering the Anglo-Spanish allies by 3:1. That is false - the French were the ones being outnumbered.
