Israel Discovers Largest Hamas Tunnel Yet IDF officials claimed on Sunday to have discovered a giant Hamas-built tunnel under Gaza just a few hundred meters from the Erez Humanitarian crossing, through which thousands of Palestinians have crossed into Israel for work and medical treatment. The network reportedly spanned over 4 kilometers and was built with reinforced concrete with electricity, ventilation, sewage, communications, and even a rail system. IDF international spokesperson Lt. Col. Richard Hecht claimed the tunnel was evidence that “for Hamas, attacking the people of Israel continues to take priority over supporting the people of Gaza,” given its proximity to the crossing.
